MLO 4: Research & Technology
4.1 Students gain knowledge of appropriate research methodologies and are able to apply them in their studies.
4.2 Students use appropriate technologies in research and studies relative to Japanese language and culture.
4.3 Students collect, manage, and analyze current and emerging technology-based resources to develop and produce their scholarly work.
Courses taken to meet his MLO:
- WLC 300: Major ProSeminar
- WLC 400: Senior Capstone
- JAPN 404: Advanced Japanese for Presentational Communication
To fulfill this MLO, I took WLC 300, WLC 400, and JAPN 404. In WLC 300, we created this ePortfolio, which is itself a good demonstration of the use of technology. We also started looking at the means of completing our capstone projects, which included lectures on how to use different sites and software to find appropriate research, as well as compile that research. In both WLC 400 and JAPN 404, we continued this process to completion, combining more lectures about technology and research with presentations to demonstrate our progress. We extensively researched our topics and compiled the information in our capstone PowerPoints. I will link the English powerpoint below. In this process, we used websites like http://ci.nii.ac.jp/en, Google Scholar, and Google Drive products (Google Slides, Google Forms, Google Sheets, and Google Docs).
